The Adaptive Dance Program provides accessible dance opportunities to our ATPF families with the goal of empowering children to achieve their goals through the performing arts. This program is run by Tap Fever Studios in Pacific Beach, CA.
Tap Fever Studios provides accessible dance opportunities to people of all ages, with and without disabilities. Since July 2019, this program has served 101 children and over 90 families to date.
Anyone can dance if given the chance! Every week, kids meet for a fun, sensory friendly dance class for kids of all abilities led by certified dance instructors. We do dance warm-ups, play rhythm games, work on copy-cat choreography, and finish with Freeze Dance and stretches.
We currently run classes weekly, alternating between a class for kids ages 5-10 and a class for kids ages 11-18. This program has been transitioned to include both virtual and in-person options for classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This project does important work!" - Melissa Harkness-Corral
