Launched in 2016, the Autism Tree Girls in STEM Program was founded by Autism Tree volunteer and Cathedral Catholic High School student Nithya Krishnamurthy, who has since graduated from Yale University. The program is currently led by Autism Tree Intern and Canyon Crest Academy Student, Kaelyn Liu.
Designed for girls in grades 6–12, this program allows girls to explore computer science in a safe and inclusive environment, and covers fun topics such as coding and robotics. This program has proven to inspire, educate, and equip our Autism Tree girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st century opportunities.
