USD Men's & Women's Basketball Player Mentor Program

The Autism Tree USD Men's and Women's Basketball Mentor Program was launched in 2023 in partnership with USD Athletics to connect autistic individuals and their families with University of San Diego basketball players for mentorship, friendship, and shared community experiences throughout the basketball season.

Facilitated by Autism Tree Director of USD Athletics Mentor Programs Jon Hickey, this program was created to give children and families meaningful opportunities to build lasting relationships with their USD student-athlete mentors and feel part of the Torero basketball family.

Fosters confidence, inclusion, and connection by inviting Autism Tree families to cheer on their mentors at USD home games, meet the teams, and enjoy post-game time together on the court, creating memories that go far beyond this season.
